The Pivotal Role of Indian Women in Chandrayaan-3 Mission: Breaking Barriers and Leading the Way

Chennai, 14th July (IANS) – A senior official from the Indian Space Agency has stated that although the leadership of the Chandrayaan-3 mission is being carried out by men, there is a significant contribution from women. Nearly 54 female engineers/scientists are working on the Chandrayaan-3 mission in various capacities, including as collaborators, assistant project directors, and project managers.

Chandrayaan-3, the upcoming lunar mission by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), marks an important milestone in India’s space exploration. While the previous mission, Chandrayaan-2, had women leading key roles, Chandrayaan-3 showcases the valuable contributions of women in a large number of roles.

Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3: A Common Goal
